Joohyun Park

Joohyun Park (b. 1991) is a New York-based media artist who works with computational media to explore conceptual ideas and new aesthetics. Through his work, Joohyun often places ordinary subjects within virtual contexts, questioning our perceptual experiences within nature as a system.

“Web browser is a 21st-century canvas.”

Digital space has long been Joohyun's playground where he transforms imagination into experiential form. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Joohyun holds a B.Comm. in Mass Communication from Yonsei University and an M.P.S. in Interactive Telecommunication from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. His work has been exhibited internationally in New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Reykjavik, Athens, and various web spaces. Some of his projects have been recognized by Innovation By Design Awards, Design Awards Asia, and Design Nominees.

Beyond his creative practice, Joohyun currently teaches creative coding and UX/UI prototyping as an adjunct faculty at NYU ITP, while working as a design engineer.
